Worship

At First Presbyterian Church we believe that worship is a celebration of who God is and an affirmation of God’s desire to be in relationships with us. Worship happens whenever we pray, study, serve, or show our desire for God. Worship can lift your hearts, touch your hurts, work your minds and call you to task.  Sometimes we worship individually or in small groups with our minds, hands, and/or hearts.

Each Sunday we worship corporately in two distinctly styled services. At 8:45, a casual community gathers in our fellowship hall for Early Light, a relaxed, creative, organic service with thought-provoking teaching. Expect movement, praise, weekly celebration of communion, and the feeling of being gathered in a large family.

Our 11am sanctuary service combines the best of tradition and involves the full complement our choirs and musicians, praising God’s majesty. A holy sense of honored ritual and custom finds innovation in relevant preaching and outlet in congregational response to God’s amazing love for us.

A nursery is provided from 9:40 – noon. Both services include a special Time for Children after which children Kindergarten age and younger may choose to attend a Bible story and activity time especially for them.

Summer Sunday Schedule – Each summer we shake the usual schedule up a bit by combining our worship at 10am in the sanctuary and incorporating elements from several styles of worship.  At the 9am hour we offer Adult (teens are very welcome!) Summer Sunday School. Our childcare welcomes children of all ages at 9am for Bible videos and engaging activities.
