The choirs are always searching for enthusiastic singers and/or ringers to join our welcoming and fun choirs! Choir rehearsals offer a great way to meet and mingle voices/handbells with others who share a love for vocal and instrumental music in the church.  Find your fit in one (or more!) of the choirs below. For more information about all choirs, contact Joan Gibbs at 243-3115 ext. 29 or jgibbs@firstpreswilson.com.

Chancel Choir
Wednesday rehearsals, 7-8:30pm

If you are teenaged through adult, the Chancel Choir is for you. This choir leads the traditional worship services with enthusiasm, singing their faith. Special seasonal services are led by the Chancel Choir: Advent/Christmas, Lent/Palm Sunday and Easter.

Kyrk Ringers
Monday rehearsals, 5:45-7pm

First Presbyterian’s handbell choir, for high-school-aged persons and older. Bell-ringing is a wonderful dimension to our music ministry. We rehearse weekly and ring for 11:00 worship several times a year.  Each June a Handbell Camp is offered for rising 4th-7th graders.

Knox Singers
Sunday rehearsals, 6:30-7:15 pm

This choir for 6th-12th graders rehearses immediately following Youth Fellowship.  These teenagers express their faith through music, dedicating their time and talents to the church. The Knox Singers go caroling in December.  They also participate in an instrumental ensemble a couple of times a year.

Children’s Choirs
Sundays, 5:00-6:30pm

Calvin Choir (preK4-2nd Music): This opportunity for pre-K4-2nd graders explores music-making on Sunday evenings. These young musicians will learn how to make music with many types of instruments including their voices, while having fun. Emphasis is on learning Bible stories through song.  This group will sing for worship 4 times throughout the year. The children’s music room is above the adult choir room of the sanctuary building.

Chapel Choir (3rd-5th Music): The Chapel Choir will explore music-making on Sunday evenings! These musicians learn to express themselves and praise God through singing, playing more complex instruments and leading in our fantastic spring sermon in song. The children’s choir room is above the adult choir room of the sanctuary building.
